A single word, set to change the world

Sustainability is on the world’s agenda, and for good reason. Our current decade, the 'decade of action’, is the most critical for making positive, sustainable change. The United Nations (UN) Environment Programme report warns that unless global greenhouse gas emissions fall by 7.6 percent each year between 2020 and 2030, we will miss the 1.5°C temperature goal of the 2015 Paris Agreement, and experience irreversible consequences such as more rapid species extinction, mass coral bleaching, sea level rises and more extreme temperatures and weather.

ESG - Environmental, Social, and Governance

Bruks Siwertell supports the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) defined by the UN in the 2015 Paris Agreement, and is committed to the 'Ten principles' of the UN Global Compact. ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is a framework used to assess an organization's business practices and performance on various sustainability and ethical issues. It also provides a way to measure business risks and opportunities in those areas.

Environmental includes factors related to a company's impact on the environment, such as its carbon emissions, resource usage, waste management, and approach to climate change. Social encompasses factors that reflect a company's impact on society, including its labor practices, treatment of employees, community relations, diversity and inclusion policies, and product safety. Governance refers to factors related to a company's internal governance structure, board composition, executive compensation, shareholder rights, and transparency.

Bruks Siwertell's sustainability work is assessed from an ESG perspective, and is linked to the seventeen SDGs. We support and integrate these into the Group’s policies and processes. 

Our 2030 ambitions

Bruks Siwertell wants to set the sustainability standard for the industries that we serve and with ambitious targets, make a positive impact on surrounding ecosystems. On 31 May 2023, we published our first full sustainability report, which includes details on our sustainability focus areas and measurable goals, and we aim to publish an annual report on our sustainability achievements onwards.
